Editorial methodology
Evidence before verdict.
A repeatable method for deciding what to use, watch, ignore or build.
Five layers
- Source: identify the primary announcement, documentation, research, repository or direct evidence.
- Claim: separate the source's claim from ActualWire's interpretation.
- Test: define the use case, inputs, constraints, cost and acceptance criteria.
- Evidence: record output, failure modes, uncertainty and reproducibility.
- Decision: issue a bounded verdict and the shortest useful next action.
Verdicts
USE means sufficiently proven for the stated use case. WATCH means potential exists but material evidence remains incomplete. IGNORE means it is not worth the target user's attention under stated constraints. BUILD means a bounded implementation or commercial test is justified.
Corrections and commercial separation
Material corrections update the article date and explain what changed. Affiliate or commercial relationships do not convert into a positive verdict and must be disclosed.
